Odisha Guv bestows police medals on 16 personnel

Odisha Governor SC Jamir today decorated as many as sixteen police officers with Police Medals for Gallantry at a state-level function held at Jayadev Bhawan here on the occasion of 68th Republic Day.

The 16 recipients of Police Medals for Gallantry include Kalahandi SP Brijesh Kumar Rai and Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra.

IG Police (Railways) Vinaytosh Mishra and Inspector (CID) Prasanna Kumar Dash were given the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service.

“Any honour will inspire to do good work and this award will further motivate to perform better in future. We have a very good team in Malkangiri and I expect them to perform in future too,” said Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra.

Governor gave away awards to as many as 43 police personnel on the occasion.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and DGP KB Singh were present on the occasion apart from other senior officials.
