Odisha Guv not to host ‘At Home’ party on I-Day. Here’s why

Bhubaneswar: Expressing solidarity with people affected by Cyclone FANI in Odisha, Governor Ganeshi Lal decided not to host At Home party at Raj Bhawan on the occasion of Independence Day this year.

The move came as mark of respect to the victims in the cyclone-ravaged state.

Worth mentioning, Odisha Governor holds At Home party at Raj Bhawan on August 15 every year. The dignitaries of important fields including Chief Minister, Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Speaker, ministers, MPs from Odisha, MLAs and high court judges and prominent industrialists are invited to the party.

The freedom fighters are also felicitated on the occasion.
