Odisha: Half burnt body of missing woman recovered from bush

Jajpur: Half burnt body of a woman, who was missing for the last two days, was recovered from a bush near Sunari village under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district today.

The deceased has been identified as Gitanjali Dash (39).

Sources said Gitanjali, daughter of Upendra Panigrahi of Sunari village, had married a man at Betanda village few years ago. However, she left her in-laws’ house and went back to her parents’ place three years ago due to family dispute.

On July 12, she went missing, following which her brother lodged a police complaint. This morning, some locals spotted her half-charred body in a bush and raised an alarm.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
