Cuttack: Popular playback singer Sourin Bhatt landed in a major controversy as a woman levelled harassment charges against him.

The victim, a bank employee, has filed a complaint in this regard with the Jagatpur police.

As per the complainant, Bhatt had been harassing her physically and mentally after promising the woman of marrying her and giving her a break in singing.

She further alleged that Bhatt took Rs 10 lakh from her.

"The case has been referred to the Mahila police station. A woman police official has been directed to submit a report. We will initially file an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC, following which investigation will commence," said Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra.
