The court while admitting the petition filed by Congress MLA from Dabugam Bhujabal Majhi directed Rao to place his stand before it by September 20. The court has fixed September 21 as the next date for hearing on the matter.

Majhi has alleged in the petition that Rao has given false information about his income in the affidavit he submitted at time filing of his nomination.

The Dabugam MLA has alleged that Rao at the time of submission of the affidavit had stated that he didn’t owe any dues to the government. On the other hand, during the same period, Rao had appealed to the Income Tax department to allow him to pay in installments over Rs 40 lakh he owed to the department.
