A division bench of the court, comprising Justice Pradip Mohanty and Justice Biswanath Rath, while hearing the petition of Hansdah, issued notices to the CBI, Central government and Lok Sabha Speaker.

The bench posted the next hearing of the case to March 10.

It may be mentioned that the CBI had arrested Hansda in the chit fund scam in the Nabadiganta Capital Services on November 4 last year.

As per rules, Hansda would lose his membership in the Parliament if he remains absent for 60 consecutive sessions.

Considering the above, he had moved a bail plea in the Khordha District Sessions Judge to which the court rejected his bail plea on February 22.

As a last resort, he later filed a writ in the High Court to release him on bail to attend the Parliament session.
