The High Court had to postpone the hearing on the bail plea as the Twin City Commissionerate Police failed to submit the case diary (CD) in the court today.

The High Court while directing the police to submit the CD has fixed the next date of hearing in the matter for August 9.

Papu Pom Pom, who is accused of sexually exploiting a minor girl on the pretext of giving her a break in movies, had filed a bail petition in the High Court on July 27.

Earlier, on July 11, the Khordha District and Sessions Court had rejected the bail plea of the comedy artist in the much talked about case.

Notably, the Twin City Commissionerate Police had arrested Papu and his aide Pradip Swain on June 30 from an apartment in Puri and produced them before the residential court of the Khordha District and Sessions Judge. They were later sent to Jharpada Special Jail, where they are currently lodged in.

The Rangeela Toka-fame actor has been charged under sections 354(A), 506, 509 of the IPC and sections 8, 12 and 17 of the POCSO Act.
