Odisha: Headmaster engages students in poll-related work

Jeypore: It seems Khirod Kumar Bhattamishra, the headmaster of Shundhiguda Government Upper Primary School under Jeypore block in Koraput district is not following the directive of Odisha government in ensuring quality education to school students. Instead of taking classes, the headmaster today allegedly engaged Class VIII students of the school were engaged in Booth Level Officer (BLO) duties.

Reportedly, Assistant Teacher of the school, Rudra Prasanna Panigrahi was assigned the BLO duties. But surprisingly, the students were asked to do the election-related job at the school’s hostel at 9 am today.

Bhattamishra was suspended earlier for his lackadaisical attitude towards the BLO duties during the last general polls. Also, the then Block Education Officer had taken action against the Assistant Teacher and withheld his salary for the month of April for negligence of duty.
