Vigilance department sleuths today arrested a supervisor of the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Marshaghai in Odisha’s Kendrapara district for taking bribe.
Reports said the arrested supervisor identified as Praveen Grahacharya had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1,000 from one Pratap Barik of Dnarmunda (Silipur) village in Marshaghai block. Barik had applied to the CHC for making certain corrections in the birth particulars of his two daughters. After making Barik do several rounds of the CHC, Grahacharya had asked him to pay Rs 1,000 to get his work done.
Barik had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance on this account.
Grahacharya was trapped by Vigilance department sleuths while he was accepting the bribe of Rs 1,000 from Barik today.
The anti-corruption wing later conducted raids at the CHC and at Grahacharya’s house at Darabaccha.
