Puri: Tension prevailed in Penthakata area of Puri town when locals stopped officials of the district administration from taking a COVID-19 positive case to a COVID hospital today.

As per reports, an ASHA worker along with some other health workers went to Penthakata area to take a person who tested positive for COVID-19. Relatives of the COVID-19 patient opposed the health workers and did not allow them to enter their locality. Along with some locals, relatives of the COVID-19 patient detained the health workers.

When police received information, they intervened into the matter and rescued the health workers.

Though the district administration declared Penthakata area as a containment zone, locals have been spotted roaming around in groups without maintaining social distance.
