Bhubaneswar: Following today’s announcement of the schedule for polling to the General Elections 2024 by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena adjourned the hearing of public grievances which was earlier scheduled to be held by District Collectors on Monday.

The administrative decision was taken close on the heels of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) coming into force. All District Magistrates were to hear the grievances along with respective Superintendents of Police.

This matter is to be treated as extremely urgent, a notification of the GA&PG department said.

Worth mentioning, the General Elections to Loksabha and Odisha Legislative Assembly necessitated the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, which will be in force till the completion of the elections.
