Odisha hikes old-age pension; 48 lakh to be benefited

Bhubaneswar:  The Odisha Government today hiked the monthly old-age pension under Madhubabu Pension Yojana. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced this during Ama Gaon Ama Vikas programme held at Secretariat here.

As per the new announcement, people who are getting 300 will now get Rs 500 while people aged 80 years and above will get  Rs 700 from existing Rs 500. The beneficiaries would received the increased old-age amount with effective from February 15.

CM Naveen said,“My government aims at providing social social security to all genuine beneficiaries under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. 5 lakh additional beneficiaries have been included under the scheme recently. With this, total 48 lakh people will be benefited under the scheme.”
