Odisha hikes salary of Gana Sikhyakas who have not passed OTET from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a hike in the salary of Gana Sikhyakas who have not passed the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET).

As per the announcement, their salary has been increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000. This move will benefit as many as 1121 Gana Sikhyakas in the state.

The CM further announced that Gana Sikhyakas who have passed the OTET will be regularized in service as Med Teachers (Ex-cadre). This will benefit 1472 Gana Sikhyakas.

This apart, those Assistant Teachers (Ex-cadre) who have passed the OTET and not getting annual increment, will receive the increment every year. It will benefit 9520 such teachers.
