Odisha: Hirakud dam closes 3 sluice gates

Sambalpur: Authorities of Hirakud dam here closed three sluice gates today in view of decrease in water level of the reservoir.

Currently, the floodwater is being released through four gates, said dam authorities.

The water level of the dam stood at 623.04 ft as against its total storage capacity of 630 ft by 6 AM today. While 1,33,647 cusec floodwater was being released from the dam per second, the inflow was 1,00,509 cusec per second, said dam officials.
