Odisha Hockey WC: Salman steals the show at Barabati

Cuttack: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan today showered praises on people of Odisha, especially Cuttack city, where the ‘Dabang’ star was participating in the second phase of the inaugural function of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup at Barabati Stadium here.

Thousands of his fans went berserk when the ‘Bhaijaan of Bollywood’ started his speech by saying a few Odia words such “Jai Jagannath” and “Mu Tumaku Bhala Paye”, among others.

The crowd went mad again when Salman said “Mu Tumaku Bhala Paye”.

Saying this is his first Odisha visit, Salman said the Odisha CM is a man of great simplicity. Besides, he appreciated the residents of Cuttack making the city to be known as the city of brotherhood in the country.

“I am grateful to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for giving me an opportunity to come here and greet everyone on this occasion. I am touched by the warmth and welcome of the people of this State,” the Bollywood superstar said.

Acknowledging his presence, Naveen said: “I would like to express my deep gratitude to Salman Khan.” The CM also felicitated Salman Khan and AR Rahman on the stage.

“The people of Cuttack truly enjoyed your wonderful show today. Thank you for being here,” Naveed added.

The “Ek Tha Tiger” actor also told the crowd that he would have ‘Dahi Bara’ before leaving Cuttack, to which the frenzied fans gave a thunderous applause.

This apart, Slaman was seen chatting with Naveen and clicked a selfie with the Odisha’s longest serving Chief Minister.

This was Salman Khan’s maiden visit to Odisha. Hope the Bollywood superstar will cherish these memories for a long time.

Worth mentioning here that Actors like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Shah Rukh Khan and music maestro A.R. Rahman on Tuesday performed at the opening ceremony, which took place at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium.
