Odisha-born IAS officer appointed as CEO in Tamil Nadu

Bhubaneswar: IAS officer Satyabrata Sahoo from Odisha was appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Tamil Nadu replacing Rajesh Lakhoni, who was relieved from his post last week.

The 1997-batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre is currently posted as Managing Director of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

Sahoo was chosen for the appointment as CEO out of the names sent to the Election Commission.

Prior to his appointment, he had held several posts in various departments of Tamil Nadu government.
