Odisha: Income Tax dept raids houses of former Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud

Keonjhar: The Income Tax department today raided multiple houses of former Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud at various places.

Officers of the department carried out simultaneous searches at the ex-legislator’s houses in Nambhira, Keonjhar, Joda, Champua, Uchabali and Saheed Nagar in Bhubaneswar.

The raids were carried out amid deployment of police personnel.

It is being suspected that tax evasion by Mahakud led to the raids.

Worth mentioning, he was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2014 as he successfully contested the polls as an independent candidate.
