Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today increased the minimum wage for workers by notifying a Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) of Rs 7.

Labour Commissioner Dr. N. Thirumala Naik has issued a notification in this regard.

"I, Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, I.A.S., Labour Commissioner, Odisha do hereby notify that the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) @ Rs. 7.00 per day (after rounding off) shall be payable to the unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled categories of employees in all 89 scheduled employments w.e.f. 1st October 2023 in addition to the minimum rate of wages," the notification said.

The present rate of minimum wages including VDA per day w.e.f. 1st October 2023 shall be as under:
