Odisha industrialist Mahima Mishra appears before CBI

Bhubaneswar: A day after raids at multiple locations in Cuttack and Paradip, industrialist Mahima Mishra appeared before the CBI here today.

Mahimananda Mishra aka Mahima Mishra reached the CBI office in Bhubaneswar for interrogation in connection with a case registered in Delhi.

The CBI teams on Thursday had raided Mishra’s office at Link Road and residence in Odia Bazaar in Cuttack city in the case. The searches were also carried out at office of Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL) in Badapadia locality of Paradip town. The CBI sleuths also questioned Chief Mechanical Engineer of Paradip Port Saroj Kumar Das and a contractor namely Sumant Rout at The 100 Millions, a guesthouse of Paradip Port in connection with the case.

Following the raids, his son Chandan Mishra was reportedly grilled by the officials for hours at CBI office in Bhubaneswar yesterday.

Mahima Mishra, the Managing Director of Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL), allegedly was a mastermind in a sensational murder of Mahendra Swain, a top executive of Hyderabad-based Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited (SSLL), in Paradip in 2016. He was arrested from Bangkok in December 2016. He was granted bail in the murder case in 2019.
