Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to shiver again under intense cold wave conditions from January 29 as the Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted that mercury will drop by a significant margin.
The places likely to bear the maximum impact of the cold wave are Phulbani, Angul, Daringbadi and Sundargarh. Similarly, mild foggy conditions are likely to prevail in northern and interior parts of the state.
On the other hand, light rain likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south Odisha and Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh districts of north Odisha and dry weather likely to prevail over the rest districts during the next 24 hours.
Shallow to moderate fog likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Bargarh.
Worth mentioning, the trough of low at mean sea level over southeast Bay of Bengal, adjoining Andaman Sea and Equatorial Indian Ocean persists.
