Odisha IPS association to contribute day’s salary to martyred Jawans’ families

Cuttack: The IPS Association of Odisha has stepped forward to show solidarity with the Central Reserve Police Force, shortly after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik enhanced the ex-gratia for the families of the two Odia CRPF bravehearts today.

In a press release, the Odisha IPS Association, while condemning the Pulwama terrorist attack, expressed deep sorrow and anguish and is certain that resolute action will be taken against the perpetrators of the heinous crime, .

A resolution was passed wherein, the association has pledged that its members will contribute a day’s salary to the welfare fund of the Directorate General of the CRPF as financial aid to support the bereaved families of the martyrs.

Two Odisha jawans, Prasanna Sahoo and Monj Behera were among the 49 jawans killed in the worst-ever terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Reportedly, Sahu is survived by his wife, 18-year-old daughter Sony and 16-year-old son Jagan, while Behera is survived by his parents, wife and one-year-old daughter.
