Odisha is marching ahead, says Naveen in Republic Day message

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is marching ahead in the fields of industrial development, education, health, women empowerment, agriculture and sports, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in his Republic Day message today.

“Odisha has attracted the attention of the whole world by hosting the Men’s Hockey World Cup for the second time in a row. This is a proud moment for all of us,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister claimed that the state has received investment intents worth around Rs 10 lakh crore in the recently concluded Make in Odisha Conclave-2022. The investment proposals have the potential to create at least 10 lakh employment opportunities in Odisha, he said.

“Odisha has become a pioneer in women empowerment by promoting women self-help groups (SHGs) in the state. The state government is assisting the SHG members to become small and medium entrepreneurs,” added the Chief Minister.

Hundreds of schools have been transformed under the 5T initiative of the state government. Poor people of the state are getting free healthcare under Odisha government’s Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojna (BSKY), claimed the Chief Minister.

“We have launched schemes like KALIA and Odisha Millet Mission for development of agriculture in the state. The state government is striving hard to achieve excellence in every spheres of life. Odisha will definitely achieve this target before its centenary celebration in 2036,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister paid tributes to freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose, Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das, Utkalmani Gobabandhu Das, Veer Surendra Sai, Nabakrushna Choudhury, Saheed Laxman Nayak, Rama Devi, Malati Choudhury, Harekrushna Mahtab and Biju Patnaik on the occasion.

“We are proud of our Constitution. Our Constitution is the soul of our democracy. It has been inspiring us to build a prosperous society,” Patnaik said.
