Bhubaneswar: A servitor of Jagannath temple at Odisha’s Puri town has been invited to the wedding ceremony of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant in Mumbai.

The high profile wedding ceremony is scheduled to be held at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12.

Jagannath Kar, a servitor of the 12th century shrine, has been invited to the marriage ceremony. Kar has received a specially-designed invitation card from the Ambani family. He has also received a telephone call from the business tycoon’s residence in Mumbai.

Kar had facilitated the visit of Anant to Jagannath temple in April this year.

“Anant Ambani had invited me to his wedding ceremony during his visit to Srimandir in April. The Ambani family has sent an invitation card to me recently. I will visit Mumbai to attend the ceremony,” Kar said.

The box-shaped invitation card is made of silver and it features gold idols of Hindu deities. Upon opening the card, Vedic mantras resonate in the background, revealed Kar.

Notably, Anant had visited Jagannath temple a few days after his engagement with Radhika Merchant and donated a sum of Rs 2.51 crore to the shrine.

He made the donation for the repair and renovation of the temple.
