Bheden/Bhubaneswar: The mother and elder brother of Odia soldier Nilanchal Patel from Baghapali of Sunalarambha village under Bheden block of Bargarh district, who died late Friday night in a fatal road mishap in Manipur, have been deeply shocked after they lost the jawan.

“I had lost my two minor sons nearly a year ago, both of whom were sick and died in a single day. The untimely demise of my lone brother has shocked me like anything. He was like my son as I had already lost my sons,” the deceased’s survivor sibling Nilambar said with tears in his eyes.

“Nilanchal’s body is likely to arrive at the airport (Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar) in the evening and we are now waiting here to receive his body,” the shocked Nilambar stated.

The martyred soldier’s elderly mother is also waiting at the BPIA, Nilambar added.

Worth mentioning, Nilanchal was a soldier of Assam Rifles and was deployed in Manipur. He died in a road accident while on duty and was patrolling along with a few other soldiers.

Nilanchal was the younger son of late Adi Patel and Gurubari Patel from Bargarh. The martyr’s widowed wife Rajeswari and their two daughters namely Rani and Ranu were staying in Manipur.
