Bhubaneswar: A flight of IndiaOneAir returned to Bhubaneswar without landing at Jeypore Airport in Koraput district of Odisha due to bad weather today.
The flight had left Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital at 7.10 am in the morning and it was scheduled to land at Jeypore Airport at 8.45 am.
The flight had reached its destination on time but it did not get the required permission from the Air Traffic Control (ATC) to land at Jeypore Airport, sources said.
The flight returned to Bhubaneswar after hovering over Jeypore town for quite a few minutes, sources added.
“Jeypore region witnessed rain today morning. The sky was cloudy. The flight did not get the required permission to land at Jeypore Airport. The pilot decided to return Bhubaneswar in view of the depleting fuel stock,” said a source.
The passengers, who had booked their tickets to travel to Bhubaneswar from Jeypore, have expressed their resentment over the incident.
Similarly, the passengers, who were supposed to land at Jeypore at 8.45 am, could not reach their destination.
