Odisha, J’khand to discuss flood situation on Aug 7

Bhubaneswar, Aug 3:

Officials of Odisha and Jharkhand will meet at Baripada this Friday for a Joint Coordination Committee meeting on flood control in Subarnarekha River, revealed Pradip Jena, principal secretary Water Resources department here today.

“On August 7, the Joint Coordination Committee will be meeting in Baripada. Our engineer-in-chief and chief engineers and similar ranking officials from their side (Jharkhand) will be meeting at Baripada,” said Jena.

Notably, floods in river Subarnarekha have been playing havoc in undivided Baleswar district. The region stretching from Jaleswar to Bhograi have been inundated by floods in river Subarnarekha causing extensive damages.
