Odisha Journalist quizzed over ‘fake viral’ video of Keonjhar MP
Bhubaneswar: A senior Journalist of private news channel Odisha Television (OTV) who was picked up by Keonjhar police earlier today has been released, said official sources.
The journalist, Ramesh Rath was whisked by the Keonjhar police to an unknown place today afternoon for questioning. He was released after questioning for a few hours.
Also, the police seized some documents and computer hard disk from his residence and OTV office in Bhubaneswar.
Sources said Rath was questioned in connection with a ‘fake viral’ video of Keonjhar MP Chandrani Murmu. Though notices were served to Rath earlier to appear before the police, he failed to depose.
In 2019, another OTV Journalist Simanchal Patra was arrested for his alleged involvement in the case. During quizzing Patra reportedly told the police he got the video from Rath.
