Nuapada: The Vigilance sleuths arrested a Junior Clerk of the Khariar Sub Registrar Office in Odisha’s Nuapada district for accepting Rs 20,000 bribe for land registration.

A Vigilance official said the Junior Clerk, Sanjay Kumar demanded Rs 20,000 bribe from one Parameswar Barik of Khariar area to register a patch of land in favour of his spouse.

Based on a complaint lodged by Parameswar, the sleuths laid a trap and caught the Junior Clerk red handed.

In this connection Koraput Vigilance P.S. case No. 30 U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation into the matter is on.
