Bhubaneswar: In a major crackdown, Khandagiri police today busted a robbery gang involved in the much-debated dacoity earlier conducted in Prakruti Vihar locality of Bhubaneswar. The probe team arrested four persons in this connection and forwarded them to a local court later in the day.

The arrested were identified as Manas Chinnara, Baishnab Ojha, Padmalochan Mallik, and Adhir Ojha.

Police have seized cash of Rs 26 lakh from the possession of the four arrested miscreants.

According to the police sources, the arrested used to work as masons during day hours and loot after the fall of night. They had recently looted from the house of Hadibandhu Behera on October 15.

The miscreants conducted a robbery on the house in Prakruti Vihar when Hadibandhu’s family members had gone to a nearby temple to worship. The house was locked from the outside by the family.

Interestingly, the accused were working as colour masons at that time outside the house. After the family left for the temple, the gang barged into to it by breaking open its rear window.
