Bhubaneswar: A Sub-Inspector of Khandagiri Police Station here along with a private individual was today caught red-handed while demanding and accepting Rs 50,000 bribe from a complainant.

Sub-Inspector Susanta Kumar Swain and his aide Chinanjiv Bala sought the bribe to help the complainant in a case registered at Khandagiri Police Station in the capital city here, said an official of the Vigilance directorate.

Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case no. 9/2023U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and further investigation is underway, added the official.
