Odisha: Lakhs of devotees throng Sri Mandir to have Nabajauban darshan of Lords

Puri: With just one day left for nine-day Ratha Jatra of in pilgrim city Puri and the lords recovered from illness, lakhs of devotees thronged the Jagannath temple to have Nabajauban darshan of deities inside the shrine here today.

The devotees will have glimpse of lords, who will appear in youthful form after being recovered from fever that they suffered following having divine bath on the holy Snana Purnima.

The temple authorities have made two types of systems for the darshan of lords. While the parimanik darshan began from 8.00 am till 9.00 am, the devotees can have sahanmela (free darshan) from 9.00 am till 10.00 am from Bhitara Katha inside the temple.

Later, other rituals of the deities will start from around 10.00 am for preparation of Ratha Jatara scheduled to kick start from tomorrow.

Notably, the lords give darshan to devotees on Ratha Singhasan after staying inside Anasara house for treatment of illness. During Anasara period, the devotees could not have darshan of lords for 14 days.

The lords get recovered from fever following herbal treatment including massage of Phuluri Tela (medicinal oil) on their body and dose of Dasamula (herbal medicines).
