Odisha: LAMPS Supervisor under Vigilance scanner

Nabarangpur: Vigilance officials today raided property of Jharigaon LAMPS (Large Area Multi-purpose Cooperative Societies) Supervisor of Nabarangpur district on charges of acquisition and possession of property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Separate teams of the anti-corruption wing raided LAMPS Supervisor Gayaram Mathia’s gas agency at Chacha Panchayat and petrol pump on Umerkote-Jharigaon road in Nabarangpur district. The officials also searched his houses and property at various places in Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Nuapada districts.

The raids were headed by Vigilance Kalahandi DSP Satyaban Mahananda, Nabarangpur DSP Pramod Bag, Jeypore DSP KK Patra and Rayagada DSP Sushant Biswal.

The exact amount of disproportionate assets that the LAMPS Supervisor had possessed will be ascertained after completion of the raids, said a Vigilance official.
