Odisha launches web app for ‘Khusi’ to ensure distribution of sanitary pads remains hassle-free

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today launched a web application to ensure the supply chain management for ‘Khusi’ scheme remains hassle-free. Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare department, PK Mohapatra inaugurated the scheme virtually here.

With this web application, the sanitary napkin can be stocked adequately at block level warehouses. Also, nodal officers of schools will be able to distribute sanitary napkin pads to girl students in a smooth manner, said Mohapatra.

An official of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) that helped the State government to launch the web application said, transparency could be maintained in the supply and distribution of sanitary napkin pads and adequate stock at the block level could be ensured with the help of the application.

Under ‘Khusi’, the flagship scheme of the Odisha government, adolescent girl in Class VI to Class XII in all government and government aided schools in 314 blocks and five Municipal corporations are provided with sanitary napkins free of cost.

For the year 2020-21, the State government released Rs 30 crore funds for the scheme.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the scheme in February 2019.
