Odisha lifts night curfew in all urban areas

Bhubaneswar: With gradual decline in daily COVID-19 cases in Odisha, the State Government decided to lift night curfew in all urban areas with effect from February 18, 2022 i.e. today.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 24(I) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 read with Rule 8(1) of the Odisha Disaster Management Rules,2010, the State Government do hereby order that “Night Curfew is withdrawn/ lifted from all urban areas of the State
with effect from 18th February, 2022”, stated the Special Relief Commissioner in a notification today.

On January 31, 2022, Odisha Government had issued the COVID guidelines for the month of February with maximum relaxations and imposed night curfew in all urban areas of the State from 10 pm to 5 am every night.

As daily COVID cases are showing downward trend in Odisha, the State Government lifted the night curfew for the public. However, COVID restrictions as prescribed by the authorities for the month of February will remain in force.
