Odisha litterateur Manoj Panda conferred with Sarala Award

Noted Odia writer Manoj Kumar Panda was conferred with Sarala Award for his story book “Maya Bagicha” and overall literary achievements at a ceremony held at the Odisha capital this evening.

Panda received a cash award of Rs 5  lakh along with a citation.

Besides, two other notable personalities of Odisha were honoured for their valuable contribution in the field of music and art. Bhimsen Satpathy was awarded with Ila Panda Memorial Music Samman and D Narayan Rao was awarded with Ila Panda Memorial Art Samman. They received a cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh each along with citations.

Eminent Hindi writer Dr Mridula Garg graced the occasion as the chief guest. Notably, the award was instituted in 1979 by the Indian Metals and Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT).
