Odisha lockdown: HC suspends hearings till March 31

Cuttack: In view of lockdown clamped in five districts and eight towns to fight novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Orissa High Court today directed to suspend hearings till March 31 with immediate effect.

As per the order, the cases listed on March 23 (today) have been suspended and no further listing will be made upto March 31.

However, the urgent matters can be mentioned before the Deputy Registrar (Judl.) through WhatsApp message or video call.

The court directed the Registry to ensure that a vehicle and doctor with his team will remain available round the clock.

The Registry has also been directed to deploy the staff on rotation basis considering the need of work.

Notably, five districts — Khordha, Cuttack, Ganjam, Kendrapara and Angul — as well as municipal jurisdiction of Puri, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Jajpur, Jajpur Road, Bhadrak and Balasore are under lockdown from 7.00 am on March 22 till 9.00 pm on March 29 to combat spread of COVID-19.
