Odisha: Love triangle led to murder of Bolangir youth Rajat Pradhan; four minors among six held

Bolangir: Police claimed today to have cracked the death mystery of Rajat Kumar Pradhan (23) who was allegedly murdered 20 days ago and belonged to Ainlachuan village under Sadar police limits of Bolangir district.

Rajat was killed over a love triangle and six accused including four minors have been arrested in connection with the killing of the youth, a senior official of Sadar police station said.

A probe team has recovered Rajat’s mobile phone, including a sword and an iron rod used in the crime from an abandoned well. The lover of a girl, who happens to be a minor, had hatched a conspiracy to get rid of Rajat leading to the untimely death of the victim youth.

The girl took the help of her male friends to eliminate Rajat and the body was dumped on a railway track to give it the impression of a suicide case. Rajat’s body was recovered from a railway line near Khujenpali village on June 25, a day after he went missing and his mobile phone was found switched off.

The crime scene was recreated with the key accused, the senior cop informed.
