Odisha LS bypoll: BJD way ahead of BJP; Congress a poor third

Pratyusha Rajeswari Singh of Odisha’s ruling BJD has increased her lead over her nearest rival Rudramadhab Ray (BJP) by over 2,60,000 votes in the bypoll for the Kanhdhamal Lok Sabha seat.

According to the latest figures released by the Election Commission, Pratyusha Rajeswari has got a whopping 4,22,286 votes, while Rudramadhab Ray of the BJP is lagging far behind with 1,62,352 votes.

Surprisingly, the Congress which had come second in the April 2014 elections, has been pushed to the third position with just 77,802 votes.
