Odisha: Malkangiri-Sukma police teams hold coordination meeting to curb Maoist activities

Malkangiri: Two police teams from Malkangiri district in Odisha and Sukma district in neighbouring Chhattisgarh today held a coordination meeting to curb Maoist activities in both states, ahead of the upcoming General Elections this year.

The senior police officials discussed ongoing ultra activities in the bordering areas and decided on strategic plans to restrain the red rebels, who are active in these areas.

The high-level meeting was held in Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Office. Sukma Additional SP Akash Markam, Malkangiri Additional SP (Operation) Manoj Singh, DSP Jadumani Jena, SDPO Sachin Patel, Mathili PS IIC Debadatta Mallik and several other senior officials took part in the discussion.

Checking at posts in these states will be intensified and drug peddling will be dealt with hard-handedly in a coordinated manner between police personnel of the two states, a senior official said.
