Odisha man among two injured in wall collapse succumbs

Angul: A man among couple injured in a wall collapse in Angul district yesterday, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a hospital today.

The deceased has been identified as Sadananda Behera (52), a resident of Bagedia panchayat under Chhendipada block in Angul district.

According to reports, Sadananda and his wife Baby (47) had sustained critical injuries on Wednesday morning after wall of an almirah  manufacturing factory owned by their neighbourer Baji Pradhan collapsed on the duo while the couple was at backyard of their house.

Source said that the wall of the factory was adjacent to Sadananda’s house. As the wall suddenly collapsed, the couple, who was doing something inside the house, was trapped under the debris.

Following the incident, the neighbourers rushed to the house and rescued the couple in a critical condition. First, they were taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Chhendipada, for treatment. Later, the victims were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Angul, where Sadananda died.
