Biswa Ranjan Sarangi, hockey coach from Cuttack city, has been appointed as an umpire for the 4th Hockey India Senior Men’s National Championship 2014 in the B Division.

The Championship, which is being held at Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), began on 27th of February and will continue till 13th of March, 2014.

Sarangi,an employee of Accountant General Office in Bhubaneswar, has officiated as an umpire in previous Hockey India championships as well.

“Biswa Ranjan Sarangi has a bright future ahead. He is a talented young man with total dedication to the ever evolving modern game of Hockey”, said Pratap Satpathy, General Secretary of Hockey Odisha and vice president of Hockey India in a release today.

Member of Hockey Odisha and media in-charge Mohammad Shakeel hoped that Sarangi, with his keen hard work, will be asked to officiate international matches soon.
