Odisha man arrested by UP Police on sedition charge put up before court

Cuttack: A man from Odisha who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday on sedition charge for his derogatory post against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Aditynanth on social media has been produced before a local court in Cuttack district today.

The UP Police deposed Sayyed Hassan Ahmed at the CJM court seeking to take him on a transit remand for interrogation.

The 42-year-old Sayyed is a resident of Kushambi village under Salipur police limits in Cuttack district. He owns an electronic shop in Salipur area.

Yesterday, a team of UP police arrested him for allegedly posting derogatory and threatening content against PM Modi and UP CM Yogi and lodged a sedition case against him.
