Rayagada: The Gunupur police of Rayagada district today arrested a man for allegedly posting obscene morphed pictures of his wife on social networking site Facebook.

The arrest was made today following a complaint lodged with Gunupur police under Sections 498 (A), 354 (A), 506, 507,509 and 294 of IPC RW Section 67 and 67 (A) of IT Act on December 12.

As per the complaint lodged by the victim woman, accused Gobinda Rao (41) of Jagannath Pada under Titlagarh police limits in Balangir district was earlier arrested and sent to jail after his wife levelled allegation of torture against him. On his release from jail, he again started torturing his wife and threatening her. Another case was lodged against him, following which he escaped to avert police arrest.

Later, he posted his wife's  morphed pictures with pornographic content and derogatory remarks on Facebook to defame her wife.  The victim later reported the matter to Gunupur police. Acting on the complaint, the police nabbed Gobinda Rao on December 13 and seized mobile phones used in the crime.

The accused was later produced before court today. Further investigation is underway in this connection.
