Odisha: Man dead, brother critical after attack by miscreants

Angul: A man was killed while his brother suffered critical injuries after unidentified miscreants attacked them at Musapapuli Chhak in Angul district last night.

The deceased has been identified as Dushmanta Senapati. Though the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertain, previous enmity is suspected to have led to the incident.

Sources said when Dushmant and his brother Dushasana Senapati of Rantalei village were out for some work and standing at Musapapuli Chhak at around 8 PM yesterday, the miscreants came and opened fire at them. They also attacked them with sharp weapons before fleeing the spot.

While Dushmanta died on the spot in the attack, critically-injured Dushasana was rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) for treatment.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the incident.
