Odisha man dies in scorching heat as father leaves him outside with limbs tied

Keonjhar: In a highly shocking incident, a 40-year-old man died after being exposed to intense heat wave conditions as his father tied his limbs and left him outside at Sanamasinabila village under Ghatagaon block of Odisha’s Keonjhar district, yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Sumant Nayak, son of Panua Nayak of the village.

According to reports, Sumant had yesterday created ruckus in the house and thrashed his wife. Later, he went to to his father’s snacks shop and had an argument with the latter.

Being irate over his son’s behaviour, Panua tied Sumant’s hands and legs, and left him outside under the sun at around 2 pm.

Left unattended, Sumant breathed his last amid blistering heat wave.

On being informed, Ghatagaon police reached the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and detained the accused for questioning.
