Odisha man gets 10 years in jail for killing wife

Jajpur: The court of Additional District & Sessions Judge here today sentenced a person to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for killing his wife in 2015.

The case pertains to the murder of Rajani Munda by her husband Kuna Singh at Nuagaon village on May 10, 2015.

A compliant in this regard was filed at the Jajpur Road police station. It was being alleged that Kuna murdered his wife suspecting her fidelity. Kuna was subsequently arrested and forwarded to court.

Adjudicating the case, the court today awarded him 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000. In the case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of six months.

As many as 14 witnesses were examined during the trial.
