Bhubaneswar: A special POCSO court in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha today convicted a man in connection with the rape of a minor girl in 2020.
The court awarded 20 years of imprisonment to convict Rabindra Sahu of Ganjam district and also imposed a penalty of Rs 55,000 on him.
As per the case records, Sahu was working as a mason in Sadeipur village in Jagatsinghpur district. He had abducted a minor girl of the locality and raped her in 2020.
The police in Jagatsinghpur had registered a case in this regard as per a complaint lodged by the victim’s family.
The court convicted Sahu on the basis evidences found during the police investigation.
