Odisha: Man gets 9 months jail for throwing footwear in courtroom

Balasore: The Court of SDJM here today sentenced a man to 9 months of imprisonment for throwing footwear in a courtroom in March, this year.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on convict Rabindranath Senapati. In the case of non-payment of the fine amount, he will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of one month.

Senapati had on March 15 this year thrown footwear in the courtroom at the Court of JMFC (Rural), Balasore.

He was arrested and a case was registered in this connection by the Sahadevkhunta police.

Adjudicating the case, the SDJM Court today delivered the judgement. The court held him guilty under Sections 451 and 294 of the IPC.

Since the arrest, he was lodged in the Balasore Jail as an undertrial prisoner.
