Odisha man hacks 8-year-old daughter to death

Nuapada: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly hacked his eight-year-old daughter to death at Kotmal village under Khariar police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district, today.

According to reports, accused Mahendra Ketaki attacked his daughter Sarita with a paniki (a kitchen tool used for chopping vegetables) as he lost his cool over an issue. The minor girl sustained critical injuries on her neck and died on the spot.

Mahendra fled the spot soon after committing the crime. Acting on a written complaint lodged in this connection by the uncle of the deceased, police reached the village, recovered the body for post-mortem and started investigation.
