Odisha: Man held for fining vehicle drivers on NH by posing as Tehsildar

Dhenkanal: The Dhenkanal Police have arrested a person for allegedly posing as a Tehsildar and collecting fine from vehicle drivers on National Highway near College Bypass here. An associate of the accused has also been apprehended.

According to police sources, the accused duo had detained a truck driver on the NH, last night and demanded money from him.

In the meantime, a patrolling team of the police reached the spot. On realising the arrival of the cops, the accused tried to escape but were nabbed by police.

An SUV used by the two was also seized by the police. On the basis of a complaint lodged by the truck driver, police have registered a case while further investigation was underway.
